The majority of enquiries that we receive from domestic customers, are involving property rewires and generally how much it is going to cost!
Many properties in Lancashire will have old electrical wiring and getting your house rewired will add value to the dwelling and will ensure that the operation is safe and reliable. Purchasing a new property? Then mortgage lenders will often require this work to be undertaken in order to release funds.
Rewire quotes will depend on varying factors:
- House Size – a two bedroomed terrace is likely to take a week, a four bedroomed detached house could take 3 weeks.
- Is your property occupied? Work can be carried out quickly if the property is vacant.
- The specification of the fixtures and fittings – are you a lover of brushed chrome finishes or a cheap and cheerful white PVC?
- Different lighting options – simple pendant fittings are cost-effective, but recessed spotlights have an elegant, sleek result.
- The number of sockets that you require and additional extras, for example, cinema set-ups, music systems or security lighting.
A commonly quoted price, is an average of £2500 – which will include the following:
- Installing a new consumer unit
- Renewing all the wiring from the electricity metre to the new consumer unit
- Installation of new electrical accessories
- Circuit testing and final electrical inspection reporting
Projects and their prices differ from property to property! Please feel free to give me a call to discuss your property in more detail and to receive a tailored quote.
